Just for fun
These are just some pictures Jason found online a while back and I saw them while looking through my photos and they struck me funny. So...I'm sharing them with you.
I hope this doesn't happen to us!!!
Here's a question for you all... What's the worst destruction story you have from your (or your kids) past?

To get you all rolling, I'll start! Although I don't know if it's the worst (in fact it probably isn't) but for one reason or another it sticks out as a childhood memory. I was in the living room with my cousin where we were listening to music (twist and shout I believe) and we got a little rambunctious. We ended up having a pillow fight (bad idea in the living room full of plants and other breakable things) and she ducked when I chucked the pillow at her. Unfortunately directly behind her was a nice big breakable lamp. It crashed, and broke all over the floor. It was one of the times I figured I've be in deep trouble but mom just came upstairs and helped us clean it up. Just goes to show kids never know what their parents will do!

Destruction? Well, I cut my hair once after putting a hockey helmet on...just cut off whatever was sticking out. I do recommend trying this. I liked the result, mom however was not as impressed. And once Joel decorated my face with permenant marker! This one was also not well received...guess mom didn't appreciate our choosen outlets of personal expression.

Kristy, I can't remember much destruction on my behalf but I do remember you getting flung into a cactus plant in the living room. My kids? Everyday is a near disaster! None quite as nice as the painting kids though.

Hey Kristy, you gave me a good idea. Check the history of my kids messes on my flickr account. If any of you bloggers want to see check it out at www.flickr.com/photos/lorifranz/

PS. I LOVE comments on the photos. hint hint.
I remember that crash Kristy. What I remember more clearly is the dead silence that followed.
I also remenber some ketchup on the ceiling above the counter, and nobody knowing anything about how it got there.Mom
Mom,
I just heard the truth of the ketchup story a few weeks back, though my lips are sealed of course! It did, however, have absolutely NOTHING to do with me for a change!
Lori, on your behalf I seem to recall a very muddy battered girl coming into the house after some mess with the three wheeler??? You'll have to fill in the details on that one!
Well Shayla at 2 1/2 would have fit right in with those paint kids except that her chosen medium was a large container of Desitin diaper cream. I left it in her bedroom during her nap and she moved her toddler bed across the room to reach it and then painted her walls, dresser and hair with the cream. This cream is about as think and oily as they come and being a moisture barrier it doesn't wash off very well. My mom and I got it off the wall but the hair was another challenge. Her photo appointment the next day called for a pony tail to hide the damage.

p.s. I remember the broken lamp too! I was there but I wasn't the cousin who ducked! Along with the silence was 3 panicked girls! Thanks Aunt Ann for the GRACE!
Oh Yeah, forgot about the three wheeler. I was merrily driving along when the front wheel hit a hole and I flew off the front of the trike. In shock I drove home and said something like " I hit the dirt". The response? Laughter. Hey, I could have been killed! So much for sympathy.

Well, I think that I should throw in my two cents as well. When Joel (my brother) and I were younger we entered into a go-kart race in Steinbach. Dad bought the kit and helped us put it together. It was up to us to paint the go-kart. It started out alright but we soon discovered that we had enough paint to cover the go-kart AND each other head to toe. I seem to remember a lot of those early paint projects resulted in paint being applied to many more surfaces than those originally intended. Those side-projects were a lot of fun!

Hi Kristy and Jason,
Miriel is still very young and so far has not made many very big messes. The only one I can recall that is big enough to mention is finding her in a nest of shredded kleenex tissues. Fluffy and cute, (and easy to clean up). She pulled them out one by one and then shredded them into strips. Very methodical!
cheers,
adina
I heard a story about when Dean was little that ranks about even with the picture. Dean's mom had just finished waxing the hardwood floors in their house. The livingroom floor had rug in the middle with hardwood around the edges and the whole kitchen floor. I guess this was a lot of work in those days and the wax took a few hours to dry and you had to stay off of them. So she put Dean and his brother for a nap and she also went for a nap. When she woke up the two little boys had gotten into the flour bin and with their tonkas made roads around the whole house on the wet wax with flour. What a joy those boys must have been!
